Healthy Families
What is Healthy Families?
The mission of Healthy Families Charles County is to promote healthy
outcomes for babies and to prevent child abuse and neglect, through
intensive home visiting services. Healthy
Families goals are to:
- Provide information on pre-and-postnatal
care for teen and first-time parents residing in Charles County
- Ensure that babies receive regular
preventive well-care visits, immunizations, and developmental
assessments
- Engage new parents in parenting
plans that will increase their understanding of the needs and
behaviors of their child as well as the importance of parent-child
bonding
- Prevent child abuse and neglect
among Healthy Families participants
